"Miss Diana, Miss Diana, look at this leaf bug!"
Me: "Wow, how did you find that?"
"It was in the grass I almost stepped on it but then it moved. What is it called?"
Me: "I'm not sure, how can we find out?"
"Do you have Alexa?"
Me: "No I don't."
"Why? Who do you tell stuff?"
Me: "Sometimes when I have a question I ask Google or Siri."
"Ask Google."
Me: "What do I say?"
"You know what to say." (gives me the half smirk, eye roll)
Me: "How about you tell me what to ask Google?"
"Ask what the name of the leaf bug is."
Me: "Okay, I will type that."
We choose the images button so they can see which picture resembles their little friend. They determine that the Katydid is the kind of bug they found.
"What is it called?"
Me: A Katydid.
Scrunches up face, "That's a silly name, I want to call it Leaf Bug."
They were very gentle with Leaf Bug and even determined that it must be cold so they covered it up with a leaf. After further discussion they thought it must be tired and asked me to find its family. We were unsuccessful in finding Leaf Bug's family but we returned it to the tree (where it clung for dear life) and wished it the best. And that was it, off they galloped to their next adventure.
